Yang Treasure Maps
URL to IRL
Every time someone says “wow, Yang has surprisingly passionate supporters” or “I didn’t know Yang had so many fans”, don’t blame them because it’s not their fault — we, the Yang Gang, just haven’t reached them yet. For Yang to win, the Yang Gang must not be viewed as “virtual grassroots” or “AstroTurf”, we must instead transition our efforts from the internet to the streets, URL to IRL. It’s up to us and only us (not HQ) to activate pro-Yang voters and advocates in more than 3,000 counties within 50+ states and non-state constituencies. It’s time for the Yang Gang to evolve from a campaign to a movement.
If this is your first interaction with Abundance for America, hello! The founders of the Yang Gang Operations Team left volunteer positions to start an IEC supporting you, the grassroots advocate for Andrew Yang’s vision. Today we’re introducing the first aspect of our three-pronged strategy in moving the Yang Gang from URL to IRL.
The All-America Yang Movement: GROUND GAME
Running for office is often described as a “race”, implying a simple solution with a clear objective: first to finish gets the prize. But that’s not what we’re dealing with; a presidential campaign isn’t as much a horse race as it is a puzzle, where the key is to fit the pieces to make a picture. You know the picture, we do too, and before this metaphor breaks down, we’ll give you the corners of the puzzle.
Referring to the strategy within states and counties, the first aspect of the All-America Yang Movement is the “ground game”. This information is a tool to empower entrepreneurial supporters to increase Yang’s reach within states and counties. It’s available to the Yang Gang in the form of treasure maps.
Each county receives a designation through a comparison of data pertaining to its accessibility, demography, population density, size, and more. You might have seen these maps premier on the Mindful Skeptics Podcast here: Video Link.
Ground Game and the Yang Treasure Maps
Treasure Maps aren’t the answer to the election, they’re a tool to help you decide where your time and energy are spent. We suggest a combination of travel time and local knowledge to determine how these maps are used. The most important suggestion is to prioritize your local geographic area first, because every county is important. Once you’ve determined a reasonable travel distance, prioritize based on Y-A-N-G designation starting with Y counties and ending with G counties.
This can come together in a number of different ways. Let’s say, for example, you live in an N county and you’re comfortable with traveling to — and have enough geographic knowledge of everything — within a one-county radius to canvass, barbank, or #YangGangHang. Let’s also say your county is surrounded by three A counties and one Y county. We suggest starting with the area where your geographic knowledge is the most acute and then proceeding to the Y county followed by the A counties.

Treasure maps currently exist for the following states: Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
